Export of agricultural products reached nearly 28 billion USD in 6 months, the US is the largest market

TTO – In the first 6 months of 2022, the export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached an impressive figure of USD 27.88 billion, up 13.9% over the same period in 2021. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development set an export target. the whole year reached 55 billion USD, exceeding 5 billion USD compared to the Government allotment.

According to a report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the total export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the first 6 months of 2022 reached 27.88 billion USD, up 13.9% over the same period in 2021, of which the US China, Japan are the markets to buy agricultural products of Vietnam the most.

Accordingly, the main group of agricultural products is USD 11.37 billion (up 8.8%), main forest products USD 9.1 billion (up 3%), aquatic products USD 5.8 billion (up 40.8%). farming $ 176 million (down 15.9%), input production $ 1.42 billion (up 64.8%).

Notably, due to the expanding export market with up to 9 products, the group of products with high export value and reached over 1 billion USD includes coffee, rubber, cashew, vegetables, rice, pangasius, etc. shrimp, wood products, inputs for production.

In which, rubber, coffee, rice, cassava and cassava products increased in both volume and export value.

Regarding export markets, there are 4 markets (USA, China, Japan and Korea) that import the largest agricultural, forestry and fishery products from Vietnam.

 

The US is Vietnam’s largest agricultural, forestry and fishery export market with an export turnover of about 7.61 billion USD (up 7.9% and accounting for 27.3% of total export value). In which, mainly wood and wood products (accounting for 66.8%).

China is the second largest export market with agro-forestry-fishery export turnover of about 4.97 billion USD (up 5.9% and accounting for 17.8% of total export value).

In the last 6 months of the year, the agricultural industry confidently strives to export agricultural products to reach 55 billion USD  (higher than the Government’s allocation of 5 billion USD).

To do this, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will implement solutions to affect key export products with high potential and high export value, to offset the expected products. is likely not to meet the target of export turnover for the whole year.

It is expected that the main group of agricultural products will reach 25 billion USD, forest products and furniture 17 billion USD, seafood 10 billion USD and other products about 3 billion USD.
