Notably, pangasius was the fastest growing commodity when it reached 1.2 billion USD in the past 5 months, up 91.2% over the same period last year. Regarding the export market of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the first 5 months of 2022, the largest market still belongs to the US, reaching nearly 6.5 billion USD, accounting for 28.0% of the market share. The group of wood and wood products accounts for 67.5% of Vietnam’s agricultural, forestry and fishery export turnover to the US market.
The second is the Chinese market with over 4.1 billion USD, accounting for 17.8% market share; with export turnover of vegetables and fruits accounted for 20.8. In third place is the Japanese market with an export value of over $1.6 billion (accounting for 7.0%) and exporting the largest group of wood products (accounting for 43.8%). The fourth is the Korean market with an export value of over $1.1 billion (accounting for 4.8%) and the export of wood products accounting for 44.2%.
Analyzing export markets, Director of the Department of Agricultural Product Processing and Market Development (MARD) Nguyen Quoc Toan said that items such as rubber, fruits, vegetables, timber and forest products and aquatic products products… are forecasted to have a large growth in exports.
